What we collect

If you create an account, we store your email address and an automatically generated display handle. We do not ask for your real name, and you cannot set one.

When you vote on a deal, we store which deal, which direction, and when. When you tap through to a retailer, we store which deal you tapped, the page you came from, and the time. If you are signed in, those records are linked to your account; if you are not, they are not.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers.

Affiliate links

Outbound links are monetized through affiliate networks. When you follow one, the retailer and the affiliate network receive the referral and set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. We do not control those and cannot delete data they hold.

Age

StarBuy is for people 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, we do not have a children's section, and we do not target products at children. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Service providers

We use Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Anthropic (deal verification), Upstash (abuse prevention), and Cloudflare (bot protection). Each processes data on our behalf under its own terms.

Your choices

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and its associated votes at any time by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your profile and votes. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under the GDPR or the CCPA.
